Led by its president, Pedro Pablo Díaz, and its executive director, Pedro Acuña, the Trade Association of Processors and Exporters of Prunes of Chile, Chileprunes, was present at the National Agro Meeting (Enagro) 2023, the most relevant event of the year for the agricultural sector and organized by the National Agricultural Society (SNA).
Chileprunes is an important union in the national agri-food sector, which represents 12 companies that have Chile as number 1 in production and exports of prunes in the world.
The values around sustainability and the use of new technologies and innovation, which Chileprunes reinforces among its associates and the industry in general, coincide with the spirit seen in the 2023 version of Enagro, which has been developed in parallel with the Fair CFIAgrotech.
The latter brought together in one place the Chilean agri-food industry with national and international actors for the promotion, marketing, relationship and strengthening of the industry in the country and throughout its chain.
“We support this fair and what has been said at the event. Chileprunes, as a promoter of prunes abroad, and therefore, of Chilean fruit, seeks increasing quality of its fruit, and to achieve this, we are committed to consistency, innovation and new technologies, as well as the search for sustainability that is part of our procedure,” indicates Pedro Acuña.
On the occasion, the president of the SNA, Antonio Walker, addressed the main “bull’s backs” facing the sector, which has been hit this year by floods in the central and southern areas of the country, security problems, financing and the famous “permissology”. The latter has put obstacles in the way of investment in all the country’s economic sectors.
“Security and public order”, “orderly immigration is another repeated demand”, “water”, “protecting the phyto and sanitary zoo heritage”, “financing” and “rationalizing permits”, were part of the points presented by the leader of the SNA at the beginning of the meeting in which the President, Gabriel Boric, participates.
