Expecting an attendance of around 450 people between producers, processors and exporters, as well as suppliers and guests from the Argentine prunes sector, the prunes industry will meet again on Wednesday, March 19 at the “12th EXPO Ciruelas Secas – 2025”.
Among the news of the day, and considering the recent momentum that the Chilean prunes is taking in India – after negotiations and agreements that allow its entry to that market from 2023 – there will be the presence as a speaker of Sumit Saran, director of SS Associates, who will refer to how to promote this fruit in the most populated country in the world.
SS Associates is a food consulting and marketing company specialized in the launch of international foods in India. The company represents, among others, the Washington Apple Commission and Pear Bureau Northwest in India and is responsible for the design and management of promotions for Washington apples and US pears.
In addition, there will be the presence of Iván Vera, international speaker on Innovation, as well as founder and president of Innspiral, Magical Startups and Turingo, companies linked to technology and entrepreneurship, who will shed light on innovation in the prunes industry.
Another novelty is the presence as a speaker of the agricultural engineer and advisor to agro-industrial companies, Claudia Pinochet, who will give us a “View of quality from the Process to the producers”.
All of them, in addition, crossed with “openwork watermelons” that have accompanied us in previous versions such as Sebastián Valdés and Juan Pablo Sotomayor, among others. The first of them, a company director, who last year provided new information regarding “the other competition in prunes” such as Uzbekistan and China, will make his presentation under the title “Learning competitive commercial actions.” Sotomayor, on the other hand, an agricultural engineer and production manager at Frutexsa, will once again give us an in-depth look at his productive analysis of the season.
The event will take place on March 19, at the Monticello Events Center.
Among the nearly 450 attendees will be the most important suppliers, European plum growers – the main input in orchards -, traders, insurance and financing companies; processors, to fresh and dry exporters, passing through other multiple suppliers of the industry, energy, packaging, agrochemicals, logistics services, oven suppliers, production lines, corers, mechanized harvesting equipment, technology services, consultants, nurseries, among others.
