Thanks to the previous work of several years that has been carried out, mainly, with the walnut, today the Chile Brand is recognized as a premium product in India.

This was stated by a group of senior retail executives of the Asian giant, who accompanied by the president of Chileprunes, Pedro Pablo Díaz, met with the international director of ProChile, Natalia Arcos and the head of the Strategic Development Directorate of said institution, Felipe Opazo.

The Indian executives visiting Chile are Gunjan Vijay Jain, director of VKC Nuts Private Limited; Pratik Dattani, managing partner at Regency Global Ingredient LLP; and Rajeev Pabreja, managing director of Commodity Trading Corporation. They are being accompanied by Sumit Saran, director of SS Associates, an international consulting firm that supports Chileprunes in that country.

On the occasion, Pedro Pablo Díaz, together with these executives, agreed on the great opportunity that is presented in that market, not only because of what the Chile Brand is in that country, but also because of the multiple health benefits that consumption brings. of prunes, in line with what Indian consumers expect from the foods they consume.

For her part, Natalia Arcos reinforced that India is one of the focuses that ProChile has as a destination for our commercial exchange, not in vain, a ChileWeek India 2024 is being organized, the date of which is not 100% defined, but it is very likely that it will be at the end of August. This is an event in which 12 sectors of our economy will participate, traveling to New Delhi and Mumbai, and possibly Bengaluru.

The ProChile representative adds that she was very surprised that they see Chile and its products as a destination for premium products for high-level consumers, in terms of spending, which makes our country well positioned to continue growing in India.

Likewise, “I really liked how they push at the local level to ensure that rates and tariffs on certain products continue to go down not only to help Chile, but also for the development of their own businesses.”

Finally, she highlights that it is very useful to have these conversations prior to ChileWeek India, “where they gave me many insights, about how to present the Chilean offer, who we should talk to, and what attributes to highlight. A visit like this helps us a lot to adjust the program.”
