A little history
This visit – and the previous ones by Chilean authorities and executives to that country – is aligned with the importance that India has for the Chilean prunes industry, as announced at the 10th. EXPO Dried Plums of 2023, when it was emphasized that one of the great strategic objectives of the sector was to export to the giant Indian market.
Indeed, after arduous public-private work, this objective finally saw the light and became official in August 2023, when it was announced that the tenderized prunes will be able to enter that country, a market of more than 1.4 billion inhabitants.
This achievement was achieved after a process of more than 5 years, which included the collection of information about our production processes, and the sending of samples that indicated to the Indian health authority the extraordinary characteristics of our products, as well as the guarantee that It was a harmless product.
